On Thin Rapid Pearly Tunnel Eyvind had left me with various lengths of tape of various sound samples. He wanted a cut up piece that had 23 edits which would correspond with the 23 vertabrae in the spine. Each segment needed to be clearer and clearer as worked our way up the spine. Winged Head Over Troubled Waters features a woodwind trio cut up using analog tape and a pitch control. Universal features a violin cut up using analog tape and blank tape. These two pieces instructions were simply, "Put some space in it."
