Cut of the Month is the TOM BAKER QUARTET with their cut "Swampled". I recorded this jazz record at Soundhouse in Seattle and mixed it at my place. This is from their new CD which just got released. Their blend of classic jazz arrangement with modern improvisation is quite a cup of tea! Please to be enjoyink.

The bulk of the month was spent in transfer land as reported last month. The Henry M Jackson tape archive is being migrated to digital 96k 24 bit. This project is speeches, hearings and what not in the life of the Senator from the state of Washington. The years span 1954 to 1983 or so. This guy was a Senator for almost 40 years. He was an environmentalists before it was hip. He was a straight talking, blue collar type guy. He ran for President twice but never succeeded. However, his legacy in Congress can be felt far and wide. Amazing project.

The latter half of the month was spend with Wynne Greenwood (aka TRACY and the PLASTICS) recording her new project called LIBBER. These songs are amazing quirky pop dittys that stick in your head like glue. Hope that you can hear this stuff soon.

The end of each year is know as list time. Most people will list their favorites that came out that year, but I always seem to have a few late comers that were issued last year or 30 years ago, so here is my list of "Best Discoveries of 2006"
