Yes, I've been out of touch lately - it's hard to write promo
material when you're swinging a sledgehammer. Seattle, you may
have heard, was hit be a massive snow storm just after Christmas
and when the snow melted the flooding began... and it began in my
STUDIO! There is no damage but I spent a week cleaning up, which
put me severely behind. Still, it was fun to play with the big
demolition hammer!

We have a bunch of new recordings in the mail order department
(www.scottcolburn.com):

- Eyvind Kang's second CD "Sweetness of Sickness" on the RGI
label ($15)

- Climax Golden Twins' white vinyl seven inch on Roadcone
($5.00)

- Charlie Feather's 78rpm on Perfect ($10)

- Derek Baileyandamp; Min Tanaka's "Music and Dance" CD on Revenant
($15)

(All prices are Post Paid in the USA.)

The web page has had a frames overhaul and now includes cover
images and song titles for most of the projects I've produced in
the last 15 years. This update also includes official discographys
for Sun City Girls, Climax Golden Twins, Eyvind Kang, Ed Pias and
Jabon. Check it out, it's purty.

In the studio we've seen continued work on Sun City Girls drummer
Charlie Gocher's solo project, titled "Pint Size Spartacus". This
CD will see the shining light of day on the Gravelvoice label some
time this coming March or April.

And speaking of the Sun City Girls, I am currently editing another
double CD titled "Box of Chameleons" which will feature favorite
pieces of two minutes or less from all walks of time.

Marc Olsen (former Sage and Sky Cries Mary guitarist) has been in
the studio recording a CD to be released within then next few
weeks. Marc's solo album is a bare boned journey through a mellow
Seattle rain storm, complete with distant thunder. This CD
features classic guitar, bass and vocal arrangements that will dull
the senses and draw you in like a serious pain killer. The after
effect is that you'll be humming these pop songs for days after the
CD tray goes into park. Expect a Listening Party for this one and
look for Marc at the South by Southwest music conference.

Amy Denio was in the studio several times to finish the sequencing
on her "Spoot History" and "Salvatore" compilations for More Music
in Italy, as well as final editing on "Sky Down" which is the
musical accompaniment for a NY dance troupe. There are also plans
to reissue the "Pale Nudes" CD domestically for the upcoming Pale
Nudes West Coast tour. Busy lady, that Amy.

The "choppy Kang waters" continued to be plied with the completion
of the Deformations demo, which is currently being shopped. This
band is another Kang subset into rhythm and grooves. Eyvind and I
remixed the Michael White Quartet demo, which is making the rounds
while, Michael will have a duet CD coming out soon with Bill
Frisell. This monumental occasion will be celebrated on February
22 at the New City Theater in Seattle with a performance by Michael
and Bill. This is a VERY rare moment, indeed!

Although Kang and I mixed Dying Ground's CD on Halloween, it wasn't
quite right (*sigh*). A remix has just been accomplished and
editing will begin shortly. Dying Ground will be touring in Europe
on the Tzadik tour in March. Eyvind is also working on tracks for
his next Tzadik composers CD.
