Cut of the Month is from the latest SUN CITY GIRLS release "High Asia Lo
Pacific". The song is called the "Buttered Windy". It's trancey in an Asia way.

Rap group SEQUENCE stopped by to record their debut track. These kids are
barely 14 and have great rap voices.

LUMINOUS FLUX was in with a full band this time to record one new song. The
addition of real drums and bass gives this band a very full sound to
complement Susan's operatic voice. Their music still has a dark, gothic
feel but I also hear hints of Beatles Helter Skelter. We shall see.

Lori Golston and Kane did a quick and dirty demo for their TURKISH MUSIC
GROUP. You know Lori from Black Cat Orchestra so you know that this music
is supreme as well.

DAVID RUSSELL started tracking his latest project with guitar, horn, bass,
drums, piano, accordion and mandolin. The bulk of the material has a
carnival theatrical feel to it. Tangos, jazz standards, show tunes, but all
original. Sort of a Tom Waits feel, but then a curve ball comes in with an
Attractions-esque piece, a George Harrison type number and a sort of
Turtles meets early early Spinal Tap. Look for more later.

GUERREROS DEL AMOR were in briefly to do a 4 song demo of their Cumbia
music. Complete with Latin percussion, keyboards, bass, guitar, wonderful
Spanish vocals and, of course a bottle of 1800.

The rest of the month was spent doing 4 track digital transfers from 1/4"
reel of an experimental music festival that occurred in August of 1972 in
London. The festival was 16 days long and was called ICES - International
Carnival of Experimental Sound. It was recorded in quadraphonic sound so I
was able to listen to these tapes using my 5.1 setup. There is some truly
amazing things on these tapes and there is 50 hours of tape to wade
through. So far I've transferred concerts by Transition, Mustapha Tettey
Addy, Gentle Fire, Naked Software, Ascension, Audio Video Ensemble, Dance
Theater Commune, Steve Allen Whealton, MW2, Susha and Ignatius, Taj Mahal
Travellers, Amsterdam Electric Circus, California Time Machine, AMM, Echo
Replay Sound Museum, Electro Ensemble, Electric Stereopticon, Charlotte
Moorman and New Music Ensemble. Many more to come.
