Cut of the Month is an edited version of the soundtrack I did for Katerina
Slantcheva's film "Lamia". It's a psychological thriller about an artist
who killed his wife and is haunted by the memory!
SHEA NICK finished up their mixing and are off to mastering of their
Radiohead influenced disc. Many, many layers of tracks and textures.
THE UPSKIRTS came in to track a new EP with me. This one is high concept
songs written from the perspective of a 14 year old boy and his obsession
with girls. Truly fun mod pop reminding me of Buzzcocks or Jam.
MANPACK VARIANT stopped by for one day to fill the studio with noise. The
setup was amazingly complicated for just 2 sound makers. We had 3 stereo
systems along three walls of the studio, 1 feed that was just reverb that
emitted from the organ loft. We called this the "voice of god" track.
Pocket Budda and Action Jesus also lent a hand. There were DI's galore from
each source AND stereo room mics and "you are there" mics. All in all an
amazing barrage of sound and atmosphere.
The FALCONERS stopped by twice. Elizabeth was in to revoice Little Pink
Fish. This CD is already out! The story is so great! It's about a little
fish who has an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Through this thirst, he
learns how to fly!
Later that week, John and Elizabeth came in to do a demo of their duets of
koto and flute. Very nice!
THE SEA DONKEYS came in for a quick mix session of their brand of pirate music.
THE AUDIO WIZARD made an appearance at the Rebar as part of the Le Vide
series of strange and unclassifiable music.
The CERBERUS SHOAL CD - "Land We All Belive In" which I recorded in January
went to mastering and it sounds do sweet. This disc should be out in a
month. I'll let you know.
TRANSMISSIONARY SIX stopped by to record drum loop tracks to write new
songs to. expect a tour first, then new music.
