The Cut of the Month is EMBLEMATIC - Jeff Corwin. I've been dying to
put this up since I first heard it. The CD release party for this
group was just a few weeks ago and so in honor of that I give to you
this mellow soul tune about our favorite mud caked TV host that's
afraid of monkeys.
The month started out with a bang as the Animal Collective and
company blasted into Seattle and filled out house with 11 of the most
wonderful people on the planet. Their tour has been amazing and
selling out everywhere. The Seattle show was quite an experience. i
loved hearing the new songs and can't wait to record them. Jaye and I
piled into the van and went with them to Portland where we hooked up
with old friends Rick and Anne. Anne was in Thinking Fellers and the
Collective were big fans of that group. I wanted to keep going down
the coast with them, but the following records kept me at home.
LAURIE CARLSSON came in to put the finishing touches on her singer
songwriter pop EP. I can't wait for you to hear some of these songs
too. Some of them are on her website

GUITAR DEFORMATION LEAGUE stopped in for a quick mix of their brand
of bass and drums distorto-core.
ARKADE was in to put the finishing touches on their cool new record
of sonic youth pink floydy whirlwind tornado.
The mighty WATER KILL THE SUN put the finishing touches on their best
record yet. You can hear some of these songs on their myspace page
http://www.myspace.com/waterkillthesun.
The second half of the month was spent in Montreal recording the new
ARCADE FIRE record. More later
