Cut of the Month is THE ALTAMONT EXPERIENCE. thanks for all the emails that
told me that this band had to change their name since there is a Melvins
side project called Altamont. I told the band about it and I was
mis-informed. Notice the subtle difference in the name. ; ) As I said
before these kids are red hot. Good punk rock pop songs that combines the
best of the Buzzcocks, Stooges, Agent Orange , etc. Enjoy!

I walked up to Soundhouse early in the morning to record the Verts project
for Present Sounds records. This is low level trio or accordion, clarinet
and violin. This trio explores deep relaxing tones by playing off each
other and the room, gradually sharpening or flatting the note to producing
a beating effect. very cool!

Went over to RFI to master the Faster Disaster record with Ed Brooks.
Sounds super sweet. cool ass semi-retro rock with no less than 8 guitar
channels! Cut of the month soon.

mid-month Derek Monypeny came up from San Francisco to master his avant
damage band Chum Frink. Reminds me of Gang of Four, but other disagree. I
could say it's like Beefheart but that's the one song that was cut from the
record so there.

Richard Panzer slugged away at his guitar folk record or strange covers

Steve Estes completed his record of new bible stories

Sun City Girls were in to edit a one hour radio program for WFPK in
Kentucky. It's mind blowing! It's already been broadcast. You missed it.
Did you see me in Sussex at the the All Tommorrow's Parties? With Sun City
Girls? Looking at the Rothko's at the Tate in London? Eating bad Taco Bell
in Detroit? I thought I saw you.

For about a weeks time I was editing a documentary for KEXP/ EMP/ Ben
Manilla Productions for an NEH grant application. The segment was a radio
program that follows the career of Bob Dylan. This episode that I edited
and mixed told the story of Dylan's involvement in the civil rights
movement and then ultimately turning his back on politics. Very fascinating
for someone that was barely alive at the time that this was all going down.

Also had some Zombies in the studio checking a 5.1 mix for a new X-Box
game. nice!

KEXP had a nice run of bands for me to mix - Stars, Fey Ray, Matt Shaw, Sea
Ray, Get Up Kids
