Through my UW classes, we are recording two personal projects I have wanted
to do for some time. The first is the Degenerate Art Ensemble doing an
impression of the Residents' Eskimo album. We are doing this for 5.1
surround sound playback. The second project is Monktail Creative Music
Concern with two parts to this project. The group is 24 people large and
consists of a double rhythm section. What we did is split the group in half
and recorded them in surround. Now we will put the 2 halves together to
create a neo-Ornette Coleman's Free Jazz experience. I'll let you know how
that works. The second part of this session is a surround recording of the
double rhythm section with solos overdubed without hearing the other
overdubs. Nice!
Gary Mule Deer was in the studio on tape as editing began on a new CD of

him he's got to get out of the relationship because that projects just
taking all his money".
Jan Mahloch had me record her hypno therapy session for possible release.
This was a huge challenge as an engineer because you need to listen closely
to what is recorded, yet you need to stay awake!
