Cut of the Month is MORTAL CLAY. I just finished mixing their brand of
Medieval goth. Now you can check it out!

Most of the month was spent mixing the new ANIMAL COLLECTIVE record that
was called "Pacifier" but now I think it will be called something entirely
different. I've now lost all perspective on this record in that I only hear
the perfect pop songs and not the weird blanket that surrounds it. I can't
wait for you to hear it, but you'll have to wait until it's release in October.

NATHAN LEVINE and TOM SWAFFORD stopped by for an afternoon of bass and
violin improvisation followed by an improvised set with AMY DENIO. Good times

TRANSMISSIONARY SIX came in to record a "live" record for their August
tour, their brand of mellow folk pop is influenced by the Walkabouts and
for good reason...Terri is the drummer for the Walkabouts but on this album
she holds down vocal duties as Paul Austin and Jon Hyde support this
fantastic feel good all summer album. Also contains covers by Devo, Julian
Cope, and Pet Shop Boys.

The month was rounded out by a marathon week of editing and mastering for Abduction.
One project is a possible edited version of Absolom and Purto Rican Crime which a
New/old musical project of Harmony Korine. This preceded two more Carnival Folklore sets
One called "Piano Bar" and another called "For Drummers Only" both classic and deranged.
This was followed by a radio show for the BBC and Wire Magazine and a Sun City Girls LP for
for release on vinyl only in Egypt (pressed in Cairo).
For Sublime Frequencies we mastered a collection of Burmese Psychdellic music, another volume
of Thai radio madness, and recordings from Niger to accompany a DVD of Nigerian music which I
edited and mastered as well
