Cut of the Month is WIZARD PRISON - "Gogon's Family Conference". This is my (relatively) new music project with Ben McAllister and John Vallier. Check out our website at http://www.wizardprison.com. I chose this cut for a couple of reasons. First to tell you that I'm doing music again. Second, to tell you about our CD release party at the SS Marie Antoinette in Seattle, WA on July 7th, 2007 (777). The show is free and all ages are welcomed.

We have a short evening of entertainment planned for you. As you enter the space, you will be greeted by the sounds of OMEI, a drone-based dark ambient project. Then FOREST of GREY will tickle your brain with their form of Black Metal. Then a selection of skating rink organ music will cleanse your aural palate for WIZARD PRISON. We are a multimedia project complete with prison, projected abstract films of our own making, esoteric software synths of our own modification and heavy guitars and drums designed to (magically) lure you into allowing our escape from the prison. See a preview on our website. Afterwards, stick around for the wizards grand dance party. The show starts promptly at 8pm and will be over by 10pm or so for those wishing to catch Sunn and Earth.

In the studio, I started the month off right with a few days of recording SIR RICHARD BISHOP before his departure on tour and points eastward. I'm not sure where this material will go, but hopefully you will hear it one day. We did a few solo guitar pieces, piano and harmonium drones, multi-tracked madness and incantations.

FERAL CHILDREN destroyed the place with their great music. I hear influences that run the gamut of Modest Mouse to Wall of Voodoo. You'll hear shades of Joe Strummer or Mark E. Smith in the vocals. All in all making it a great record that I really excited for you to hear.

Keeping the Attractions and the Squeeze alive is C'MON C'MON executing excellent pop songs reminiscent of the mentioned bands. Really great sounding stuff, played well and catchy as hell.

I did a transfer of an old scifi punk band from England called JANE's PLANE or something like that. Interesting weird wild stuff.

Mastered a few recordings for PHANTOM LIMB and THE WALLS

Mixed an ARCADE FIRE show for French TV.

Did a test mix for CLINIC.
