Cut of the Month is TRANSMISSIONARY SIX - "Infared". This song is featured
on their new live CD which is available at their shows in europe as we
speak. In a few months it will be available by mail order only from
Glitterhouse. I selected this piece because it is such a good song.
Everytime I hear it I think that. You can too.
Revenant Records had a neat little project in the studio. It's a multi disc
set which is basically AMERICAN PRIMITIVES 2. This time around it collects
pre war revenants - people who we have very little biographical info. My
faves from this session was Moses Mason and Bayless Rose.
GOAT GIRL was in to record her folk songs. Sometimes solo guitar and voice,
sometimes in duet with accordion and a few songs as a trio of drums,
upright bass and guitar. Very Nice Stuff!
I also mastered two recordings. The first by THE ONES and HANDS TO as a
collaboration and the second, an improv between ED CHANG and DOUG THERIAULT.
Sublime Frequencies had me master projects from Iraq and Korea
KEXP had a wonderful in-studio with TURIN BRAKES and WEST INDIAN GIRL. You
can see a picture of us at the station on the West Indian Girl blog.

My first film in 15 years was premiered at the Rebar on July 27th. It's
called Intensive Care Unit. It's an experimental film in which a soundtrack
was recorded and tweaked to "look good" in the Windows Media Player. Then
the visualizations were filmed five times and edited.
The rest of the month was spent doing construction on the new control room.
the floors and ceiling are in as well as the framing for the walls. It's
turning out really nice, can't wait to finish and have a party.
