But enough about me...

Cut of the Month is a beauty - "Solid Gold Microphone" from the CLIMAX
GOLDEN TWINS' new CD titled High Bred and Sweetly Tempered, which will be
officially released on August 17th. You may recall that I posted another
track from this record earlier, "Wild Spirit" (which is now titled "Dead
People"). And as a bonus for this month, because you've eaten all your
vegetables, the smarty pants among you with surround capability can
download a .wav file to hear a remix of "Dead People" in DTS 5.1 surround
sound. Have fun -- http://s94670594.onlinehome.us/

BRIAN FOX came in to record an improvisation with me at Soundhouse with
GREG GILMORE on drums, FRED CHALENOR on bass, and DAVE CARTER on trumpet
(Brian played guitar). Among the several choice moments in this recording,
at the very least you must check out the last 15 minutes - it's extremely
ethereal and static, but the improv has a slow, churning motion to it that
stops time (seriously - when they finished playing I was surprised to see
how much time had passed!).

The UPSKIRTS also completed their EP last month. Imagine The Presidents of
the United States of America met the Buzzcocks, and they all partied with
the Jam at The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Get the picture? Fun, isn't it.

ALVARIUS B is working on his next record of Morricone covers in guitar and
multi voice. We're working on creating semi-Beach Boys-esque production
numbers with a whole cast of characters, including Eyvind Kang to Tim
Young. Good times...

KEXP 90.3 FM (www.kexp.org) kept me on my toes with some great in-studio
performances by --

BLACK NITE CRASH (I also recorded their EP)
IN PRAISE OF FOLLY
MAGNETO (which was just shy of an Engineer-Core experience, with
Barrett Jones and Lian Light in the band)
KEN STRINGFELLOW (I mixed four incredible songs on his new solo
record)
SCISSOR SISTERS (the most fun I've had in the studio in a long time!)
THE DELAYS (Byrds-influenced pop songs by Nirvana look-a-likes, if
you can picture that)
EDDIE SPAGHETTI (of Supersuckers)

ARKADE finished the mix of their new full length CD. Check out their
eye-of-the-tornado sound - it's quite unique, indeed.

I put a few finishing touches on my compositions for the LAMIA soundtrack,
a 15 minute short film about a painter haunted by the murder of his
wife. It's spooky, dark and demented, just the way I like it.

You may have been lucky enough to see the AUDIO WIZARD performance at
LoFi. If you missed it, too bad for you. Keep your eyes peeled for future
phantom performances, whydoncha.
