Cut of the Month is ELIZABETH FALCONER's and AIKO SHIMADA's "Aogeba" from the Oyasumi CD - Japanese lullabys beautifully sung by Aiko and accompanied by Liz on her heavenly koto. I chose this particular cut for your listening pleasure because it conjures up vivid images of a western folk tale, complete with saunturing horses and moon-lit praries, even though the lyrics are Japanese. This CD is now available from kotoworld.com - check it out!

In addition to the Oyasumi project, ELIZABETH FALCONER recorded another children's story album this month, entitled "The Crane's Story". This particular collection is for "older" children, in the 7-and-up range (but I like it, too).

The legendary WINSTON JARRETT came in from Jamaica to grace our studio and record his new song "Man of Peace." You may know that Winston is a musical pioneer, and is largely responsible for the ska explosion of the early 60's. He joined Alton Ellis and The Flames, and together they've recorded over 100 songs. Punch his name into a search engine and see what you get. We are deeply honored to have had the opportunity to work with this accomplished artist and record this track, and learned a great deal about reggae music and dub mixing in the process (don't see alot of that here in Seattle, after all).

NO.226 came in for a few days to record drum tracks for a few new pieces. Their brand of Bad Seeds-ish rock is sure to appeal to the masses.

The YES YES BOYS blew in for a brief moment to record five amazing depression- era classics on ukelele, bass, sax and washboard (I kid you not, they actually played a washboard!). Incredible - that's all I can say!

The MIKE MARLIN EXPERIENCE stumbled in to the studio with a cacophony of debris and horns. Their improvisational style is likened to Sun Ra's more frenzied moments.

SUN CITY GIRLS put the finishing touches to their latest project - "High Asia/ Lo Pacific."

In other SUN CITY GIRLS news, Seattle-ites should tune in to the Reverend Bruce Howard's program on cable channel 77/29 this Friday, September 7th at 8pm to witness the mayhem these mad geniuses will whip up together! I can't imagine what's going to happen...

Then, run down to Graceland to catch the CLIMAX GOLDEN TWINS/ MUDHONEY show and hear installment #2 of CGT's brand of retardation rock. Their "rock" CD is almost "sold out" and the "soundtrack" to "Session 9" just became "available". "Fasten" your "seatbelts" - "it's" going to be a "bumpy night"!

In the biblical sense,
