SUN CITY GIRLS INFO

Can you believe it?! Majora's very first CD release EVER is none other than The Sun City Girls' "Valentines From Matahari" (which is available right now). This is an honor, indeed! In addition, "Bright Surroundings, Dark Beginnings" will be available on CD soon, with vinyl reissues of both releases, to boot!

Keep your ears open for "Box of Chameleons", the massive triple CD set from the Girls, which will ship in two weeks.

"Juggernaut", the video with soundtrack by Sun City Girls, is now available on VHS (for your listening AND viewing pleasure). Watch it, live it.

The Japan Overseas CD "Land of the Rising" is fully available, as is Charles Gocher's first solo project "Pint Sized Spartacus".

GRAVELVOICE WEB PAGE

I've logged many, many hours renovating the Gravelvoice Web Page, which features a new and improved Sun City Girls page which now includes all releases in LP, CD, and cassette. I'm still filling in the holes on the more obscure releases and compilation tracks, but everything is in pretty good shape right now and I'm rather pleased with it. I plan to update it often, both informationally and sound-wise.

STUDIO WISE

Edits on another Girls soundtrack CD, called Dulce, has begun.

I recently began recording Rick Bishop's solo CD for Revenant, which features mostly solo guitar pieces to make you laugh, cry, and kiss your guitar teacher goodbye.

Alan Bishop (alias Alvarius B) was in last week to edit his second solo effort - a double gatefold vinyl release of vocal and guitar pieces. There is talk about a month-and-a-half long studio lockout in December to record new Sun City Girls material, so when the chills of winter are coursing through your bones just know that Mother Nature had nothing to do with it: it's merely the vibrational holocaust oozing forth from the mythical Gravelvoice lair of geniosity.

But let's move on, shall we?

The Climax Golden Twins are in the middle of a studio lock-out to finish their next project, which we like to call "Locations", which features... uh... "location recordings" mixed and segued into an alternate reality which might not quite resemble home. The Twins have also completed a soundtrack for another Don Fels instalation which is reflective of Don's stay in Italy. The background piece consists of location recordings made by Don in Italy and Sicily, the tapes of which were poured over ever so gently, extracting the finest, most succulent of moments, which were then passionately caressed until molded into a fine Italian pasta (ahem).

Another volume of Victrola favorites has been completed, as well. This one is titled "Victrola Favorites Volume 4 - Alvarius B's Picks" which features 78s from Burma.

Climax Golden Twins and Swell drummer John Vallier was in to begin laying tracks for a solo project of his own. John is such a great drummer you could eat him with a spoon.

The Bali Girls' demo is completely finished and is currently being shopped to interested parties. The Balis will be playing North By Northwest again this year, and are expecting even larger crowds than last year.

As always, if you don't want to be on my list, the removal procedure is so simple:

Just return this mail to me.

That's it.
