Cut of the Month is appropriate for the month of October. Listen to the scary sounds of FEAR OF DOLLS - "The Prettiest Song" . This band reminds me of the Swans at times. Of course this cut is "pretty" so there is nothing for to fear!

September started out with a quick transfer session with Glenn Jones for the JOHN FAHEY Fonotone project which has been ongoing for many years. We are very close to having all the materials which includes several recording that have been only rumored to exist.

Then off I go to the great state of Chicago for a little R&R and a remote broadcast for KEXP from Engine Studios. The lineup was great.

Wow! what a lineup. I should also mention that My Pi is still great pizza, the Rothko's on display at the Art Institute were amazing and the jazz vinyl is plentiful and reasonably priced.

Not a day was wasted on my return as I dove right in to mixing the HOUSE ON A HILL record. I still hear hints of Meat Puppets and Minutemen but also a bit of Pretenders. It will be out in the next month or two, so you can decide for yourself.

Started a project with a group called BUH BLAM. This group reminds me of David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails and Nirvana. Don't ask how, just accept it!

The month closed with a great tracking session for IN CAVES. They have a really nice riff rock sound, at times like Pearl Jam but with a way better sense of humour. My favorite line is about Jesus coming back and wanting to open a checking account!
