Cut of the Month is the MONKTAIL CREATIVE MUSIC CONCERN. This is like Sun
Ra in the year 2000. I just put a "radio friendly" excerpt up for you to
hear, because frankly, this stuff is beyond comprehension if you aren't
deeply familiar with the same.
I conceptualized a surround mix for a film trailer for Paul Willis film
adaptation of HEDDA GABLER. the feature length film will follow later. in
2003. The mix was performed at Bad Animals here in Seattle but I was not in
attendance because....
I was in jetsetting to Chicago and New York for the Sun City Girls
performances. I only mixed the Chicago show, but it was fun to meet many of
you at the shows.
FLOCK EWE was in to track for their next record produced by Bitmoth. These
are great songs that I can only reference to Billy Bragg
Work continues on the Ornette box set. The edit brings it down to 17 discs
over 7 volumes. I did this edit work in one 24 hour period. I left the
studio at 5am thinking, Did I do that right? Did the CD's burn OK? Where
did I park my saucer?
Remixes abound on the TED SMITH project which is like Bridge Over Troubled
Water or Self Portrait.
Bridget St. John stopped by to record a xmess song for free download.
KEXP allowed me to mix on air performances by MIKE JOHNSON, DOLOUR, DREW
VICTOR AND THE PASSING FRIENDS, and SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES.
FASTER DISASTER met me over at Scott Crane's Soundhouse studio to start
tracks of their brand of backyard party band/ Jesus Lizard influenced stuff.
The month finished up with a gig between Climax Golden Twins and Sun City
Girls. Was it good? I'm not sure I just moved my house and packed up the
studio for a new era in recording the great musics of the world.
